What is DMB-T Digital TV and how does the WinTV DMB-T USB2 stick work?
Digital Multimedia Broadcast - Terrestrial (DMB-T) digital TV is an over-the-air digital TV for HK. DMB-T digital TV typically requires an antenna for reception and is currently broadcast in 75% of HK areas, with about 13 TV stations.

Note: DMB-T digital TV is NOT digital cable TV or digital satellite TV. The WinTV-DMB-T USB2 Stick cannot receive digital cable TV or digital satellite TV.

DMB-T digital TV is transmitted in several resolutions, from "standard definition" (576i, 25fps), which is similar to cable TV, up to high definition (720p at 50 Hz or 1080i at 25Hz), which has about 16 times the resolution of normal cable TV. In any resolution, DMB-T digital TV gives sharper pictures than analogue cable TV and near CD quality sound.

The supplied DMB-T portable antenna is designed primarily for DMB-T digital TV reception, and will work within 10 Km of the DMB-T transmitter (reception might be limited by obstructions such as steel buildings). For the best DMB-T digital TV reception, a roof top 'Wideband' or 'High gain' antenna is recommended.

* The WinTV DMB-T includes a portable digital terrestrial antenna, which can be used when traveling. When used in the home or office, we recommend a high gain roof top digital antenna. Some viewers will need to replace their aerials to receive digital transmissions if the installation is old or in poor condition. Digital Terrestrial coverage is improving all the time as digital terrestrial television transmitters are continuously being updated.

The WinTV DMB-T uses a rooftop antenna in the same way that most people currently receive their digital television programmes. Digital Terrestrial coverage is improving all the time as digital terrestrial television transmitters are continuously being deployed.

For optimal reception of DMB-T channels with any indoor antenna (DMB-T compatible), you have to be in a location with minimum disturbance on the DMB-T signal.
