The WinTV-NOVA / WinTV-HVR uses a rooftop antenna in the same way that
most people currently receive their analogue television programmes. Digital
Terrestrial coverage is improving all the time as digital terrestrial
television transmitters are continuously being deployed.
For Singapore residence, some DVB-T reception with indoor antenna might be impaired by walls and high
neighboring buildings/structures/trees. In such environments, an outdoor
/ roof-top DVB-T antenna is recommended. If you are using roof-top
antenna with amplified signal, in theory, you should not encounter any
reception problem and you should be able to receive all free-to-air
DVB-t channels available in Singapore.
For optimal reception of DVB-T channels with any indoor antenna (DVB-t
compatible), you have to be in a location with minimum disturbance on
the DVB-T signal. If you are using indoor antenna in a building, you may
receive only TV Mobile (scan with channel number 37) as it has stronger signal transmission than other free-to-air DVB-t channels.
Please note that Starhub SCV point in Singapore is not for DVB-t reception.
