Witnessing the MPEG2 hardware encoder in action, the visitors will be able to experience, hands-on, our excitement in bringing the end consumers the unique blend of a traditional television and a video recorder right onto the home or office computing systems. This is especially significant in this era where computers are no longer just added perks but are essentials to daily living. The PCI version, WinTV-PVR-pci was first launched in this region in November 2000.
Digital broadcasting is another focal point in this year's event and utilising this ready platform, Hauppauge is to present her digital terrestrial TV card, WinTV DVB-T. This sophisticated plug-in card will convert an ordinary computer system into a fully equipped digital TV entertainment centre. Besides displaying and recording in MPEG2 quality video, this card is also able to download unfiltered data stream at amazing speed of more than 40Mbits a second! With PCs that can record data as videos and be saved in digital format, the use of this technology combined with DVD technology provides the consumers all the functions of a digital VCR.
Complementing the TV cards, Hauppauge's DV Wizard is the company's answer to the consumer's desire for video editing. DV Wizard would demonstrate the user-friendly yet powerful video editing capability, especially targeted at entry-level users. It's flexible enough to handle professional video editing or just simple additions of scene transitions and text headers. DV Wizard edits in the native DV format, which minimises loss in the image quality that may occur during editing. Now not only privileged professionals can edit good quality videos, entry-level Prosumers can too enjoy the prowess of this complete video publishing suite!
