With the WinTV-PVR-350 you can

• Play your recorded TV shows (or home videos) onto a TV set. Our built-in hardware MPEG-2 decoder plays the video without slowing down your computer!

The WinTV-PVR-350 supports recording data rates up to 12Mbits/sec, so you decide how much hard disk space your videos will consume. A typical one hour TV show in DVD quality will take 1.5 Gigabytes of hard disk space.

WinTV-PVR-350's pause feature gives you personal "instant replay" to stop the action when you want to analyze a key scene. Instantly rewind and replay the action again.

Technically speaking. WinTV-PVR-350 contains a highly integrated MPEG-1/2 hardware encoder and hardware MPEG-1/2 decoder. The hardware MPEG encoder is used to turn audio/video into MPEG streams. The encoded MPEG stream is sent over the PCI bus, where it is stored on the PCs hard disk and simultaneously decoded in software for display on the PC screen. WinTV-PVR-350 supports three DVD quality profiles: DVD extra long play, DVD long play and DVD standard play. In addition, there are record profiles for SVCD and VCD formats, plus a “raw” 12Mbit/sec MPEG-2 format.

The on-board hardware MPEG-2 video decoder is used to decode MPEG-2 video into analog audio/video for output to stereo audio and S-Video connectors.
